About this project

Project description

Biodiversity is essential for life on Earth, providing stability to ecosystems and sustaining livelihoods. However, human activities have led to severe biodiversity loss across European agricultural landscapes.

bioVers funds the planting of hedgerows on agricultural land in Germany - together with local farmers - to provide habitat for biodiversity, reduce wind erosion, and reconnect fragmented landscapes.

Each hedgerow becomes a wildlife corridor: a refuge for pollinators, birds, small mammals and the rare butterfly and beetle species that depend on woody-edge habitats. The project is structured to issue verifiable biodiversity credits in line with the emerging Biodiversity Credit Alliance framework.
